Client:

VISY Pty Ltd is an Australian-American company that was established in Melbourne in 1948 and is a privately owned paper, packaging, and recycling company. With more than 7000 employees, VISY operates in more than 120 sites throughout Australasia and has trading offices across Asia and Europe


The challenge: 

Although the project team at VISY had been using the Primavera Suite of products as their project management information system, the increasingly fragmented database systems and uncontrolled use of disparate systems for different project teams was holding VISY’s manufacturing and project teams back from meeting the demands of modern business. It was time to move to a cloud-based solution that would provide a connected, holistic view of the enterprise project portfolio structure and position them for the next stage of growth.


The results:

For VISY, it’s legacy applications which it uses in its day-to-day operations are incredibly important. Compass Consult has offered the Primavera P6 EPPM application on Cloud for its project management team and integrated P6 with its legacy ERP application for managing smooth rollout of project related data with wide array of stakeholders located in Australia, Asia and United States

The client:

UON is a Western Australian integrated energy company providing turnkey solutions to the resources sector and beyond. Founded in 1998, the company has grown to a size of over 300 staff members


The challenge:

The project team at UON was using MS Project to manage their project schedule and were finding it very difficult when the project size increased tremendously and resource optimization became incredibly important. All PMs had disparate MSP data that was hard to combine into a portfolio, share resource assignments between projects and this siloed information was leading to too many miscommunications between stakeholders. It was time to move to a cloud-based solution that would provide a connected, holistic view of the enterprise project portfolio structure and position them for the next stage of growth.


The results:

With Compass Consult team’s help, UON now has a hi-tech cloud-based project controls system that is based on Oracle’s Primavera Suite hosted on OCI. UON was able to achieve better collaboration in the cloud, optimize resources and stay on top of the project portfolio.

With nearly 200 Operations in 16 Countries Worldwide and 8,000+ Employees, Progress Rail serves as a leader in rolling stock and infrastructure solutions across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Australia, China, India, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. 


 The challenge: 

Progress Rail’s project management teams had different localized systems for all territories which led to inefficiencies in solving management inadequacies. All important project information was siloed with standalone applications with version mismatches and different resource directories for each of the project teams. It was time to move to a cloud-based solution that would provide a connected, holistic view of the enterprise project portfolio structure and position them for the next stage of growth.


The results:

Working in partnership with Compass Consult to enhance their Primavera P6 capabilities has ensured Progress Rail now have a centralized Project Controls system on cloud needed to increase visibility across all territories with real-time reporting and dashboard capabilities while gaining increased efficiencies in resource management and accurately forecasts project progress and funding requirements.

With Bielby, the major challenge was to manage a high number of standalone P6 licenses with zero end-user collaboration, disparate databases, absence of centralized project control systems/directories leading to delayed reporting, stakeholder miscommunication and project delays.
